Grace United Methodist Church will bring music, family activities and vendors to Copperas Cove on Oct. 12 as part of its annual Fall Festival.

“Our fall festival is an annual event,” said Bob Crouch, the church’s festival committee chair. “It is technically our only fundraising for the year, but we see it as much more than a fundraiser.

“To us, it is about community outreach. It gives (residents) an opportunity to have some good, clean family fun, whether it is from the music, kids activities or the vendors.”

To kick off the festivities, the church moved its annual garage sale to today and Saturday to allow for more vendors Oct. 12, according to the church.

“This is our fist year we are doing the garage sale in advance of the Fall Festival,” Crouch said. “There is not a lot of crossover from people at the garage sale and the Fall Festival.”

Starting Oct. 12, more than 20 vendors, Texas musicians, children’s bounce houses, carnival games, auctions and a pumpkin patch will fill the church grounds.

“We are excited about the music because we think it will bring people to the grounds,” Crouch said.

Headlining the festival will be Cristiane Ross from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, a news release stated. She will have a set of shows Oct. 12 and 13.

Ross is a female Christian rock singer with a powerful voice who “will bring listeners to the edge of their seats and rock their praises out,” the release stated.

Musical performances will start at 9 a.m. Oct. 12 and feature Kingdom Grind Ministries.

As a fundraiser, the festival contributes to benefit several of the church’s local missions. Last year, more than 700 attendees contributed $1,400 to projects that provided backpacks for school children and weekly meals for families. A portion of the money raised goes to fund the youth group’s mission trip.
