Yes award

Connie Mitchell, right, received her "Yes" award plague from Jennifer Flood of the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce during a monthly mixer at the Star Group-Veterans Helping Veterans office Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018.

Connie Mitchell enjoys knitting afghans.

“I have lots of free time,” she said.

She never thought, though, her knitting would earn her recognition from the Chamber of Commerce.

At a monthly mixer sponsored by the chamber Feb. 22, Mitchell was honored with the “Yes” award.

“Connie makes gifts for the chamber,” Jennifer Flood explained as she presented Mitchell with an engraved wooden plaque. Many of those gifts are used as prizes at the mixers and other chamber-sponsored events.

Flood added that Mitchell donates not only her time but her friendship to the chamber. “We love Connie,” Flood said.

Mitchell is not merely a knitting enthusiast. She has also worked for Ledger Furniture for 46 years, currently serving as controller.
