COPPERAS COVE -- Two men remained in Coryell County Jail Thursday after police accused them of robbing a residence on Gibson Street on Tuesday. Police are still looking for a third man who may have been involved.
Justice of the Peace John Guinn arraigned both Brannon Cole Johnson and Aaron Jermaine Johnson, on Wednesday, each on four charges of aggravated robbery. He set their bonds at $100,000 for each charge. Aaron Johnson also was arraigned on a theft of a firearm charge with a bond of $10,000.
At about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 200 block of Gibson Street about an armed robbery call, stated the arrest complaints. Witnesses reported two men running to Walmart while wearing dark colored hoodies.
One officer reported to Gibson Street and allegedly arrested Brannon Johnson there, stated the complaints. A second officer arrived at Walmart and reportedly saw Aaron Johnson running through the parking lot toward Murphy's USA gas station.
The officer allegedly "ordered" Aaron Johnson to stop, but he continued to run behind a storage building, stated the complaint. Several moments later Aaron Johnson reportedly appeared from behind the building and police detained him.
Police located a black and silver semiautomatic pistol. The third male was not found on the scene.
After being detained, the two men allegedly told police they went to the house on Gibson Street and ordered the victims at the residence on the floor. They told police they told the victims they had a pistol and brandished it in front of them.
Police were later advised that the gun found at the gas station was reported stolen in Milam County.
