Seamless Summer Feeding Program

Copperas Cove Independent School District sponsors the Seamless Summer Feeding Program. Free meals will be provided to children 18 years of age or younger at several schools. Adult meals also will be available at a cost of $2 for breakfast and $3.25 for lunch. Call CCISD Child Nutrition Department at 254-547-1227.

Transfer Station extended hours

The City of Copperas Cove Solid Waste Department has extended normal hours for this weekend. The Transfer Station will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at 2605 South Farm-to-Market 116 for customers unable to dump during traditional weekly hours. All standard rates and regulations will remain in effect during this single-day event. Call 254-547-4242.

Summer Run to Fun 5K

The Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to the Summer Run to Fun 5K from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at South Park, 2602 Dennis Drive. Call 254-547-7571.

High school class reunions

Copperas Cove High School Classes of 1967 through 1973 are having a joint reunion, sponsored by the Class of 1969, from 3 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday at the Copperas Cove Civic Center. Call Linda Corbet Sharp at 254-547-3671 or Rex Hooten at 254-547-6673.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast

The Copperas Cove Community Wide Men’s Prayer Breakfast will be at 7:30 a.m. June 28 at the Crestview Christian Church, 2608 South Farm-to-Market 116. The men of the church prepare the breakfast. All men and their sons are invited. Prayer points begin at 8 a.m. and promptly end at 9 a.m. Call Ed Thompson at 254-290-1550 or 254-547-4881.

Independence Day Picnic

Star Group-Veterans Helping Veterans will hold their annual Independence Day Picnic at 11 a.m. June 28 at the Copperas Cove Civic Center. They are currently seeking donations for the event. Call Jonathan Haywood at 254-681-8029.

VA hospital visit

Military Order of the Cootie Pup Tent 13 and Auxiliary will make their fifth Sunday visit to the Temple VA Hospital at 2 p.m. June 29.

Miss Heart of Freedom pageant

Central Texas Miss Heart of Freedom pageant to benefit Operation Phantom Support-Killeen will be at 2:30 p.m. July 5. Registration fee is $45 plus 15 nonperishable food items. Attire for the event is red, white and blue.

Hills of Cove Junior Golf Camp

The City of Copperas Cove will hold its Hills of Cove Junior Golf Camp twice this summer. The camp is committed to the development of youth ages 4-15 in the game of golf. Classes will meet from 10 a.m. to noon every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Each camp is limited to 20 members at a cost of $100 per person. Camp 1 is July 8-17, and Camp 2 is July 22-31.
