Former Noon Exchange Club president Mike Blount updated members on the annual Ride for a Child event during an Aug. 23 meeting.
The club, along with other local Exchange clubs, are planning a motorcycle rally to raise funds to continue the fight against child abuse.
Mr. Ayres talked about the Healing Fields project, which involves flying 500 American flags to honor fallen soldiers and veterans.
The project was moved to Memorial Day.
Club members discussed the possibility of sponsoring an Excel Club at the Copperas Cove High School. Students would serve as leaders, and focus on patriotism, the prevention of child abuse prevention, community service and other goals.
Brenda Titus, director of the Hope Pregnancy Center, spoke about the services available to women facing unplanned pregnancies.
The Noon Exchange Club meets every other Friday at Lil-Tex Restaurant in Copperas Cove.
