The Copperas Cove Lions Club will host its 25th annual golf tournament next weekend to raise funds for several projects.
“All participation within the 25th annual golf tournament is greatly appreciated and needed,” said Cody Fenoglio, event organizer and Lions Club member.
Proceeds from the tournament pay for most of the club’s community projects throughout the year. They include providing eyeglasses for students who can’t afford them, funding new pavilions in local parks and sending children to Lions Camp, a weeklong summer camp in Kerrville.
Some of the proceeds from this year’s tournament will go to Copperas Cove City Park projects, Fenoglio said. Last year, the tournament raised $6,000, Fenoglio said; this year’s goal is $7,000.
Food and prizes will be available for those who participate. The number of flights and pay-out will depend on the number of players.
Residents and businesses can become gold sponsors for $100 and receive a tee box sign or silver sponsors for $50 for a sign behind a green. They also can donate door prizes for a raffle at the end of the tournament.
