Star Group-Veterans Helping Veterans will celebrate the Fourth of July early with their fifth annual Independence Day picnic Saturday in Copperas Cove.

“We invite all veterans, homeless, disabled and their families to attend,” Jonathan Haywood said. “We will provide free food and beverages, including grilled chicken, burgers, brisket, sausage and hot dogs with all the fixings plus there will be a variety of entertainment for everyone.”

Individuals and businesses from the local community and around the state donated items to be raffled off during the picnic.

“Some of the items being raffled are two watches retailing $150 each, a variety of overnight stays in local luxury hotel suites, and a one-hour massage,” Haywood said.

The free picnic is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Copperas Cove Civic Center, 1206 W. Avenue B.

For more information, call Haywood at (254) 681-8029 or go to www.stargroup-veteranshelpingveterans.org.
