Many adults around Central Texas have been experiencing small rollercoasters of emotion in the past few weeks, as employers have begun handing out W-2s. The first emotion is typically joy at seeing the fruits of gainful employment, but it is quickly followed by dread as people realize tax season is upon them.

Luckily, the Copperas Cove Public Library and AARP team up every year to help make tax filing more bearable.

Starting Wednesday, the local AARP will offer free tax help at the library on a first come, first served basis. The tax help will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday at the library until the tax filing deadline.

Staff will host Toddler Time and Story Time at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday, respectively. The subject of the reading times will be friends.

The library will be offering e-book help from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday. The service is designed to help readers new to digital reading devices learn how to check out electronic books from the library over the internet.

The Double C Square Dance group will host square dance lessons at the library from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. The lessons are to prepare attendees for the group’s bi-monthly dances at the library every other Friday. The next square dance will be Feb. 9.
