It is officially December, which means many residents are looking forward to the holidays.

To help get people into the spirit of the season, the Copperas Cove Public Library has planned a number of holiday events, many of which are planned for this week.

First on the list is a special Toddler Time and Story Time on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively. Rather than just reading books with the children, the library will host a Christmas party with a special appearance of Santa Claus. Toddler Time and Story Time will start at 10 a.m.

Kids aren’t the only ones who will be getting a library Christmas party, however. The library will also be hosting a Christmas party for the whole family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Aside from Christmas events, the library will also be holding its regular monthly events next week. On Tuesday, the library will be offering E-book help from 2 to 3 p.m. for anyone looking to get into using digital book readers. The library has many books available for digital checkout, as staff and volunteers are happy to help residents learn how to use the digital system.

The Double C Square Dance group will hold their weekly lesson from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. The lessons are open to anyone, and are meant to help prepare people for the group’s bi-monthly dances, also held at the library.

On Wednesday, the Maker’s Club will meet at the library from 6 to 7 p.m. Club members will discuss projects they are working on and share ideas for new projects with one another.

On Thursday, the Writer’s Society will meet in the teamwork room from 6 to 7 p.m. Members will share pieces of the writing they are working on and receive feedback from other attendees.
