February is coming to a close, but there is still plenty to do at the Copperas Cove Public Library before the shortest month is over.

First on the calendar are two events taking place today, one in the morning and one in the evening.

The monthly book club will meet at 10 a.m. today and will allow avid readers a chance to meet and socialize.

The Double C Square Dance group will hold one of its bi-monthly square dances at the library from 7 to 10 p.m. today.

The square dances are open to everyone, but some knowledge of square dancing is encouraged. The group hosts lessons at the library from 6 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday to prepare attendees for the dances.

On Tuesday, the library will host Toddler Time at 10 a.m. The reading subject for children ages 1 to 3 will be ocean animals.

Story Time — at 10 a.m. Thursday for ages 3 to 5 — is about the same subject.

Also on Tuesday, the library will offer e-book help from 2 to 3 p.m. The service is designed to help readers new to digital reading devices learn how to check out electronic books from the library over the internet.

On Wednesday, the local AARP will offer free tax assistance at the library on a first-come, first-served basis. The tax help is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday at the library until the tax filing deadline.

The Scribes Guild of the Society for Creative Anachronism will host a class on medieval calligraphy and illumination Wednesday beginning at 7 p.m.

The group will be discussing writing styles during medieval times and giving lessons and instruction on how to write in the style of the period.
