The Bulldawgs football team recently released its schedule for the upcoming season.
Copperas Cove opens its season Aug. 31 at home against Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon before traveling to play Mano on Sept. 7.
The Bulldawgs open District 12-6A play the following week, when they travel to Belton to begin their trek through the eight-game district schedule.
Copperas Cove will play home games against Killeen (Sept. 21), Waco (Oct. 5), Harker Heights (Oct. 26) and Temple (Nov. 9). The Bulldawgs bye date is Oct. 19.
Copperas Cove will host a spring volleyball league from April 9 to May 1, and it will be open to players from first through eighth grade.
The league will take place Monday and Tuesday evenings, and registration is March 22 from 6 to 6:30 p.m. at the Copperas Cove gymnasium.
There will be a clinic for first- through sixth-graders the same day from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.Cost is $40 to participate in the league and $25 for the clinic. The price is discounted to $50 for both, and a T-shirt is included.
Last year, the league consisted of more than 300 participants.

The Bulldawgs defeated Lufkin Hudson 6-2 on Monday at Franklin after the game was moved forward one day in anticipation of inclement weather.
Cameron Johnson collected the pitching victory with 11 strikeouts and no hits in 4 2/3 innings of work. Offensively, Tyler Ingram was 2 for 4 with three RBIs for the Bulldawgs, while Jacob Wagner hit a double and teammates Colby Jost and Nick Izquierdo each contributed a RBI.
Copperas Cove (4-0) is set to play in the Austin ISD tournament this weekend.
The Lady Bulldawgs fell to Waco Midway 15-0 in a five-inning, run-rule loss in their District 8-6A opener Monday. The game was moved forward one day to avoid inclement weather.
With the defeat, Copperas Cove is 3-5, 0-1 entering this weekend’s Gatesville tournament. The Lady Bulldawgs resume district play Tuesday at San Angelo Central.
TRACK & FIELD
The Bulldawgs scored 18 points and finished tied for 10th with Midway at last weekend’s Big Red Relays in Belton.
Ellison dominated the meet with 143 points, beating Round Rock Stony Point (69) and the host Tigers (65.5), who rounded out the top three.
Daveon Thomas won a gold medal in the shot put for Copperas Cove with a throw measuring 48 feet, 11 inches.
In the girls division, Belton won with 82.33 points, while Odessa Permian (81) and Waco Midway (70) followed in the standings. Copperas Cove (4.33) placed 14th.
The Bulldawgs and Lady Bulldawgs returned to competition Thursday, traveling to San Marcos for the Texas State High School Meet. Results were not available at press time.
Both teams will also take part in the Killeen ISD Relays on March 9.
The Bulldawgs and Lady Bulldawgs each suffered a shutout loss against Ellison on Tuesday.
Playing at home, the Eagles defeated Copperas Cove 3-0, while the Lady Eagles won 1-0 on the road.
Copperas Cove returns to action tonight with the Bulldawgs traveling to Shoemaker, while the Lady Bulldawgs are set to host the Lady Grey Wolves. On Tuesday, Copperas Cove plays Harker Heights.
