MOODY — The Central Texas Master Naturalist trail-clearing workday originally set for this week at Mother Neff State Park was postponed until Thursday due to the wet weather.

Recent rain has made the trail extremely muddy, said Yvonne Eele, event coordinator. Park rangers are concerned the conditions are unsafe for the activity. Anyone with a chainsaw and the skill to use it is invited to join the volunteers at the park headquarters at 9 a.m. Thursday and work until noon.

The crew will clear a walking trail to the park prairie along an old fence line, Park Superintendent Leah Huth said. The park has chainsaws, but most volunteers prefer to use their own. The park will provide fuel for those who bring their own saws. Call Eele at 254-247-7256 or email for more information.
