Fatal motorcycle crash reported

A 29-year-old man was killed Thursday night after losing control of his motorcycle.

Police identified the victim as Brandon Lynnard Martin. Martin died as the result of a crash on Bridle Drive in Killeen.

According to police, Martin had been traveling at a high rate of speed on a 2003 Yamaha YZFR6 when he lost control of the bike and fell from it.

He rolled on the asphalt and struck a parked car. His motorcycle also slid into a utility trailer.

Emergency personnel took Martin to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, where medical personnel pronounced him dead at 10:44 p.m. An autopsy has been ordered.

Martin was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
