Fort Hood is inviting soldiers, family members, retirees and civilians affiliated with the Fort Hood community to attended a two-day College Fair on Monday and Tuesday.

This is the third year the Fort Hood Education Services Division has sponsored the fair, which will feature representatives from more than 45 organizations.

The representatives will provide briefings, degree options, program updates and other materials for attendees.

Michael Engen, education services officer at Fort Hood, said that many of the colleges at the event have memorandums of understanding or articulation agreements, which make it easier for credits and courses to transfer between colleges and universities.

“That was one of our big focuses,” Engen said. “The advantage is that it makes it easier to transfer those credits you’ve already got.”

In addition to learning more about academic programs, the education center’s staff will conduct financial aid briefings to help soldiers and their family members learn more about Army Tuition Assistance, spouse tuition assistance, VA education benefits and finding and applying for financial aid and scholarship opportunities.

The college fair is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Soldier Development Center, Building 33009 on 761st Tank Battalion Avenue.
