Four additional Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center primary care clinics were recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Homes, according to a release from the hospital. Thomas Moore Health Clinic, Bennett Health Clinic, Russell Collier Health Clinic and the Family Medicine Residency Center now bear the committee’s seal of approval.

Last year, three community-based medical homes received similar recognition.

The committee is a nonprofit dedicated to improving health care quality. Since its founding in 1990, the committee has been a central figure in driving health improvement throughout the health care system.

As part of the recognition process, the committee reviewed hundreds of documents submitted by the staff at each of these clinics which provided fact-based evidence that the clinic was conducting business as a true medical home.

“Our clinics now rank among the highest nationwide — military or otherwise — in terms of quality,” said Col. Frank Hauger, a doctor with Darnall’s Department of Family and Community Medicine.
