Marine Corps Pfc. Macey T. Petit recently reported for duty with Headquarters and Service Battalion, Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, Japan.

Petit joined the Marine Corps in March 2012. He is a 2011 graduate of Shoemaker High School.

Army Pfc. Lance Hernandez has graduated from nine weeks of basic combat training at Fort Jackson, S.C.

He is a 2008 graduate of Harker Heights High School.

Hernandez is the son of August Hernandez of Cibolo, and brother of Daniel Moore of Converse.

Navy Seaman Kelvin M. Spencer Jr. was recently promoted to his current rank upon graduation from recruit training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Spencer received the early promotion for outstanding performance during all phases of the training cycle.

Spencer is a 2009 graduate of Ellison High School.

He is the son of Irazema and stepson of Johnnie Walker of Killeen.

Navy Seaman Recruit Dennisha L. Aikens recently completed eight weeks of U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Aikens is a 2012 graduate of Shoemaker High School.

She is the daughter of Cynthia G. Aikens of Killeen and Dennis L. Grayson, of Savannah, Ga.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Terrance W. Shelton graduated from eight weeks of military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

He is a 2010 graduate of Shoemaker High School.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Shelton is the son of Jeffrey Shelton and Claudia Harris, both of Killeen.

Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class David A. Williams graduated from an eight-week basic military training program at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Wiliams, a 2010 graduate of Killeen High School, earned an associate degree in 2012 from Central Texas College. He is the son of Berta Torres of Killeen, and Larry Williams of Grand Bay, Ala.
