To ensure spouses are receiving the support they need, Fort Hood Family Housing announced the launch of a new program aimed at helping spouses during deployment.

The Strong Military Spouses program offers six complimentary services, ranging from maintenance services to special events.

The maintenance punch card is one of the services available. With the punch card, spouses are eligible to receive up to five nontraditional maintenance services, such as changing a light bulb or air filter, hanging photos or shelves. The program also includes basic car care clinics and the home care program, which allows staff members to monitor resident homes for maintenance needs while they spend time away.

In addition, residents who participate in the program have the opportunity to attend special events like bowling, golf outings, movies, dance lessons and more. Monthly meet-and-greets have been organized for each community to help spouses of a deployed service member get to know one another.

“Providing support to our residents during their soldier’s time of deployment is important to Fort Hood Family Housing,” said Mack Quinney, project director for Fort Hood Family Housing. “Through the Strong Military Spouses program, we continue to show our commitment to our military Service Members and their families by making sure spouses are receiving the support they need while their loved one is deployed.”
