In ceremony after ceremony, a wave of Stetsons filled the bleachers to see five battalions within 1st Cavalry Division's 3rd Brigade Combat Team change command.

Outgoing battalion commanders talked about their most favorable memories and the lessons learned during their command, with the occasional tip for their successors.

Incoming commanders expressed their determination to ensure their units flourish during their time commanding.

Five of the brigade's seven battalions received new commanders from May 28 to 30.

Taking the reins of their respective battalions are:

Lt. Col. Steven Erickson - 215th Brigade Support Battalion

Lt. Col. Elliot Rogers – 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment

Lt. Col. Ryan McCormack – 2nd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment

Lt. Col. Michael Parson – 3rd Brigade Engineer Battalion

Lt. Col. Andrew Watson – 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment
