Tomorrow's Fort Hood Herald has a pretty unique cover - falling piggy banks.

The cover story focuses on the budget crunch Fort Hood, and the entire Defense Department, will find itself in if sequestration becomes a reality. Unfortunately, some cuts are happening regardless of sequestration. I tried to get all the details into that story for you, and if I missed an angle, please let me know.

Also you'll find an interview with Col. Joseph Martin, commander of Operational Test Command. Literally hours before I went to our meeting, the Defense Department announced Martin will be moving to serve as the deputy commander of the 1st Cavalry Division. The announcement certainly gave us more to talk about.

You'll also find Sarah Rafique's interview with singer/songwriter, Avant, who stopped by the Clear Creek PX for a mini-performance. Be sure to check out the events listings to see what else will be happening on post in the coming week.

I hope you enjoy reading as much as we did reporting!

After 20 hours of travel, by plane and bus, I finally made it to Camp Casey, South Korea with the remainder of Fort Hood’s 1st Brigade Combat Team soldiers. For the next several days, I will be following the mission and daily lives of Ironhorse troopers as they begin a nine-month rotation in the land of the morning calm.
