Fort Hood’s annual Community Showcase brings area businesses to the Phantom Warrior Center to highlight all it offers. More than 26 companies will be present from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, said Shelly Damo, Fort Hood Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation sponsorship, advertising and commercial sales manager.

The showcase is free and open to the public, and all Killeen-area residents are invited to attend.

“We have businesses from Fort Hood and (surrounding towns) all the way to Austin,” Damo said.

Local companies from Killeen, Copperas Cove and Harker Heights will be represented, as well as larger international corporations. Some of those include Army and Air Force Exchange Service, cellphone companies and Navy Federal Credit Union. Locally, the Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport, Central Texas College and Central Texas Orthodontics will be present, Damo said.

The wide variety of agencies provides local people information on services they may need while living in and around Killeen, from health care and jobs to education and recreation.

A raffle will be held for various door prizes, including an iPad.
