The following soldiers have returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom:
Army Staff Sgt. Robert A. Novak, a squad leader and gunnery sergeant, is assigned to the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.
Novak has served in the military for eight years. The staff sergeant is a 2003 graduate of Temple High School.
He is the son of Yolanda Mares of Temple, and brother of Chris Mares of Austin.
Army Cpl. Terrez D. Washington, a supply specialist, is assigned to the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.
The corporal has served six years in the military. He is a 2006 graduate of Edward H. White High School, Jacksonville.
He is the son of Marion Dunn and Kelvin Washington, both of Jacksonville.
Army Pfc. Kelly J. Eaglin, an integrated family test equipment operator, is assigned to the 98th Maintenance Company at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.
He has served in the military for four years. The specialist is a 2008 graduate of Richard Milburn Academy, Beaumont.
He is the son of Carolyn Bobeneaux of Beaumont. His wife, Aisha, is the daughter of Richard and Sabine Shelvin of Killeen.
