Marine Pfc. Ieshia C. Greaves Thomas graduated from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Greaves Thomas is the daughter of Army Sgt. Maj. Octavia G. Egyinam and the stepdaughter of Peter Egyinam of Killeen.

Greaves Thomas is a 2009 graduate of Northside High School of Warner Robins, Ga.

Army Pvt. Tyrone T. Willis graduated from the nine-week basic infantry training program at Fort Benning, Ga.

Willis is the son of Tyrone and Manuela Willis of Killeen.

He is a 2011 graduate of Shoemaker High School.

Army National Guard Pvt. Kearra S. Mcgee graduated from nine weeks of basic combat training at Fort Sill, Okla.

Mcgee is the daughter of Betty Mcgee of Killeen and the granddaughter of Carolyn Whitfield of Mobile, Ala.

She is a 2012 graduate of Ellison High School.

Day 1: On the ground in South Korea with Ironhorse soldiers

After 20 hours of travel, by plane and bus, I finally made it to Camp Casey, South Korea with the remainder of Fort Hood’s 1st Brigade Combat Team soldiers. For the next several days, I will be following the mission and daily lives of Ironhorse troopers as they begin a nine-month rotation in the land of the morning calm.
