Registration for CTC Fort Hood campus

Central Texas College announced registration for classes at the Fort Hood campus are under way now for three mini-semesters and the eight-week spring semester. Students can register now through Friday for either of the mini-semesters, which run Dec. 17-21, Dec. 26-28 and Jan. 2-11. Registration for the eight-week spring semester ends Jan. 17. Classes start Jan. 14. A list of available classes can be found at www.ctcd.edu.

Active-duty military can register using the www.goArmyed.com portal. Walk-in registration is conducted at the CTC Fort Hood campus in Building 3201, 72nd and 761st Tank Battalion Ave. It is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Online registration at the CTC central campus continues now through Jan. 11. Academic advisement for new students and students changing degree plans is being held through Dec. 21 and will resume Jan. 7. Walk-in registration for spring semester courses will be Jan. 7-11. Students should adhere to the preset schedule based on the last four digits of their Social Security number for both advisement and walk-in registration.

Day 1: On the ground in South Korea with Ironhorse soldiers

After 20 hours of travel, by plane and bus, I finally made it to Camp Casey, South Korea with the remainder of Fort Hood’s 1st Brigade Combat Team soldiers. For the next several days, I will be following the mission and daily lives of Ironhorse troopers as they begin a nine-month rotation in the land of the morning calm.
