A Mother’s Day tradition

Husbands and children can spoil the women in their lives during a “first-class” Mother’s Day brunch Sunday at Club Hood.

“It’s great food and reserved seating,” said Gaby Krieger-Perez, assistant manager at Club Hood. “They don’t have to stand in line like you would downtown.”

Residents have until Friday to RSVP to seatings at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

“This is tradition,” said Krieger-Perez, who’s been helping out with the brunch for nearly three decades. “It’s something we’ve been doing for years. It’s just to give back to the soldiers and for their families to bring their moms to show appreciation.”

Every mother in attendance will receive a carnation and a mimosa.

“It’s just going to be families getting together and celebrating a traditional day,” she said. “We’re going to have great food.”

From a starter salad to dessert, the menu is extensive, including breakfast, a carving station and several desserts.

Families enjoy the brunch every year, Krieger-Perez said. “They (always) think that the service is great, the food tastes great and the atmosphere and the decor is beautiful.”
