Not only does Sunday usher in a new month, but also a new beginning in the Brazos Trail Race Series.

The First Responders Half Marathon is the first leg of the series and kicks off  Sunday in a course that winds through downtown Waco.

This race series is to raise funds for various first responder charities, Be The Match bone marrow matching program, and military-related charities.

The series continues Jan. 26 at the Miracle Match Marathon.

It concludes with Killeen’s Army Marathon on March 2.
