Through July 18

The George W. Bush Presidential Center is accepting applications for the fourth Warrior Open, a golf tournament featuring members of the U.S. Armed Forces who served their country honorably and have been severely wounded since Sept. 11, 2001. The tournament, which will take place during the first week of October at Las Colinas Country Club in Dallas, will honor those who serve and sacrifice to defend the U.S. and will herald the many effective organizations that give their time, talents and resources to support the men and women of our military and their families. Applications for the tournament must be submitted at http://www.bushcenter.org/warrioropen by July 18. To qualify for consideration, applicants must have been seriously injured in the war on terror during post 9/11 combat; be active-duty, retired, or honorably discharged; provide a valid GHIN number verifying a Golf Handicap Index of 20 or below; and, submit all application requirements by the deadline. The Warrior Open is a program of the George W. Bush Institute’s Military Service Initiative. Through research, resources, and recognition, the Military Service Initiative unites and empowers communities, military service organizations, business, academia, philanthropy, and individual citizens to effectively support post-9/11 service members, veterans, and their families in the areas of jobs, wellness, family, education, housing, and women’s veteran issues. For more information on the tournament and the George W. Bush Presidential Center, go to www.bushcenter.org or the Bush Center’s Facebook page.
