Boot collection: Fort Hood Fisher House is collecting 3,500 pairs of combat boots to honor service members killed in combat since 2001. The boots will line the route of the Remembrance Run on Nov. 1. The 17 killed in the Nov. 5, 2009, and the April 2 post shootings, also will be remembered. Drop off donations at Old Navy in Harker Heights, The Texas Outpost in Copperas Cove, on post Green Beans coffee locations and Fisher House. The Fisher House asks donors to lace up the boots individually and place a small empty water bottle upside down in each one. Small American flags also are welcome. Roller Derby Recreation League: Come out and join the Fort Hood Hell on Wheels All Girl Roller Derby Recreation League. The league is free to join and is open to female DOD ID card holders age 16 and older. Those younger than 18 must have a legal guardian present at all times. Skaters are required to provide their own equipment. The league meets from 7 to 10 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Health Promotions Aerobics and Skating Center, Building 324 on 37th Street. Call 254-285-5372.

Warrior Open: The George W. Bush Presidential Center is accepting applications for the fourth Warrior Open. Applications for the October tournament at Colinas Country Club in Dallas must be submitted at www.bushcenter.org/warrioropen by July 18. Applicants must have been seriously injured in the war on terror during post 9/11 combat; be active-duty, retired or honorably discharged; provide a valid GHIN number verifying a Golf Handicap Index of 20 or below; and submit all application requirements by the deadline.

Support Group: Open to any kind of trauma survivors and caregivers. Hosted by Darnall Department of Ministry and Pastoral Care, the group meets from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Darnall chapel. Call Chaplain S.R. Handy at 254-288-8849 or 254-288-8850.

Monday through Aug. 8

Youth Sports and Fitness Fall Sports sign up: Enroll youth from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ages 3 to 5 can sign up for football and soccer, and ages 6 to 13 can play football, soccer and cheerleading from September to November. The Youth Sports office is in Building 6602 on Tank Destroyer Boulevard and Building 70020 on Clement Drive.

Just Stressed Out: Support group for female spouses or caregivers of service members with post-traumatic stress disorder, active-duty female service members or veterans with PTSD. Youth Sports and Fitness Football Camp: Youth can develop, enhance and master football skills from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Hood Stadium. Cost is $5.

July 25

Punt, Pass and Kick: This free NFL event allows children ages 6 to 15 to learn football fundamentals in an engaging and supportive noncontact environment from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Hood Stadium.

Golf

The Courses of Clear Creek, Building 52381 on Battalion Avenue at Clear Creek Road, is hosting these events. Call 254-287-4130.

Tuesday: Ladies, join us at the Courses of Clear Creek for twilight green fees and 10% off all in-stock women’s apparel purchases.

July 25: Play the Phantom Warrior Scramble for $35 per person, with the option to purchase mulligans for $5 per person. Teams must have at least three players from the same division, directorate, battalion, brigade, company or branch. Shotgun start at noon, and on-site registration at 10:30 a.m.

Free Yoga Classes

Enjoy yoga from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Beginners’ yoga is 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Thursday. Classes at the Applied Fitness Center, Building 12018, 33rd Street at Old Ironsides Avenue. Call 254-287-5586.
