Club Hood is hosting a Halloween murder mystery dinner theater show Oct. 18.

“It will be a fun-filled night with comedy and a good dinner,” said Gabriele Krieger-Perez, Club Hood assistant manager.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., allowing guests time to enjoy cocktails purchased from the bar before the dinner and show starts at 7 p.m.

The interactive performance, presented by professional traveling comedy group Keith & Margo’s Murder Mystery Texas, will require the audience to help solve the mystery, though all “killers” and “victims” are played by professionals.

No costumes are required, as the mystery is set in modern times in the style of a “Law and Order” TV episode, according to the group’s website. The mystery will begin as soon as guests enter the ballroom. Guests are encouraged to use aliases and try to “fool” others into thinking they’re the murderer.

Keith & Margo’s Murder Mystery Texas presented the Valentine’s Day show in February. This year’s Halloween show is the first in October for the facility, which hopes to have at least two murder mystery dinner shows a year, Krieger-Perez said.

“The shows have been going on for at least 12 years ... and it always books full.”

Tickets are $37 per person. As of Monday, 120 tickets were available. Call 254-532-5073 or 254-532-5329 by Tuesday to reserve space. The event is for ages 18 and older.

After 20 hours of travel, by plane and bus, I finally made it to Camp Casey, South Korea with the remainder of Fort Hood’s 1st Brigade Combat Team soldiers. For the next several days, I will be following the mission and daily lives of Ironhorse troopers as they begin a nine-month rotation in the land of the morning calm.
