Join the Winter Reading Program at the Casey Memorial Library. Register online or in the library throughout December and January. Children, adults and teens can earn a prize each week for reading two hours or four books. The Casey Memorial Library is in Building 3202 on 72nd Street and 761st Tank Battalion Avenue. Wounded Warriors Family Ski Week 2013

“Wounded Warriors Family Ski Week-2013” is an opportunity for seriously wounded service members and their families to benefit from the recuperative powers of a week of family activities built around the thrill and challenge of snow skiing. Ski and snowboard instruction is conducted under the experienced guidance of the world-renowned Breckenridge (Colo.) Outdoor Education Center staff for people with disabilities and special needs. The week’s events include a unique marriage-and-family enrichment program. Optional fly fishing, sledding, ice skating and horseback riding experiences are available for the whole family. Interested wounded warriors can apply for this program through Jan. 15. Selected families will be notified by Feb. 15. Board Game Night/Chess Club

All are invited to come and play board games at Casey Memorial Library, Building 3202 on 72nd Street and 761st Tank Battalion Avenue, from 5 to 7 p.m. Some of the games available are chess, checkers, Chutes and Ladders, Scrabble, dominos and Pictionary. Games will be available at the Reference Desk.

NFL Sunday Ticket

Come out to Backbone NCO Lounge every Sunday during football season to watch the games from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Free shuffleboard, ping pong, pool and popcorn. Various snack foods and drinks available for purchase. The facility also boasts 14 flat-panel, 42-inch TVs. Free and open to all, 18 and older. The Casey Memorial Library’s Preschool Storytime features stories and a craft on a weekly theme. Day cares and homeschoolers are also welcome. Commuter Van Pool

Need a ride? Join the Commuter Van Pool. Federal employees who participate in a mass transportation service such as vanpool will qualify to receive a monthly, tax-free benefit of up to $125 toward the monthly operating cost. They would simply need to ride 50 percent of their work days/month to receive this stipend that is provided in the form of vouchers.

Registration is required with the post program point of contact. A vanpool is a shared ride arrangement for five to 15 individuals who commute from the same home area or route. To sign up or for more information, go to www.militaryvanpool.com.
