Free Zumba classes

Classes are:

11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Abrams Physical Fitness Center.

1 to 2 p.m. and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Applied Fitness Center.

5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Grey Wolf Physical Fitness Center.

6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at West Fort Hood Physical Fitness Center.

Classes are free, open to family and MWR-authorized users and subject to change. For more information, call (254) 285-5459.

Free spin classes

Class times are noon to 1 p.m. daily; 8 to 9 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday; and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Abrams Physical Fitness Center, Building 23001, 62nd Street and Support Avenue. Classes are subject to change. For more information, call (254) 287-5459.

Free yoga classes

11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Beginner yoga is 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Thursday.

Fridays in April

Casey Memorial Library’s Preschool Story Time features stories and a craft on a weekly theme. Day cares and home-schooled students also are welcome. Story times are from 10 to 11 a.m. in Room 156 of the library annex, Building 3202, 72nd Street and 761st Tank Battalion Avenue.


It’s Make and Take Craft Night at the Casey Memorial Library, Building 3202 on 72nd Street and 761st Tank Battalion Avenue. Come out and learn about Earth Day by planting some seeds and creating dot art. Event held in the children’s room from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information, call (254) 287-2716.


In honor of National Blood Drive month, the Clear Creek Main Exchange is hosting the Robertson Blood Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Calling all motorcycle enthusiasts! The Redbull MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas is coming to the Circuit of Americas in Austin. Ten nationalities of the world’s most skilled riders race for a chance to win the World Championship. Come pick up free tickets at the Family and MWR Marketing and Advertising Office in the Phantom Warrior Center, Building 194 on 37th Street, Room 126. Bunny Hop 5K Run/Walk

Hop, run or walk down to Abrams Physical Fitness Center for the Bunny Hop 5K Run/Walk at Abrams Physical Fitness Center parking lot at 8 a.m. Registration is free and open to the public. Participants may stop by any of the Fort Hood physical fitness centers now through the day of the race or log on to HoodMWR.com to register.

Trophies will be awarded for the best overall male and female times. Medals will also be awarded to first- through third-place finishers, in each age category. Abrams Physical Fitness Center is Building 23001, on 62nd Street and Support Avenue. For more information, call (254) 285-5459.

It introduces proven principles for overcoming the anxieties and stresses of parenting and setting new patterns of connection and cooperation. Day 1: On the ground in South Korea with Ironhorse soldiers

After 20 hours of travel, by plane and bus, I finally made it to Camp Casey, South Korea with the remainder of Fort Hood’s 1st Brigade Combat Team soldiers. For the next several days, I will be following the mission and daily lives of Ironhorse troopers as they begin a nine-month rotation in the land of the morning calm.
