CYSS Annual Sports Extravaganza 2012

Get ready to show off your athletic skills in the fifth Annual Sports Extravaganza. CYSS Youth Services programs will be presenting an evening of sports and fun from 5 to 10 p.m. at the new Montague Youth Center on West Fort Hood. Youth are invited to come out and enjoy an evening of games and activities focused around fitness. The event will include: Gladiator Face Off, Gigantic Twister, Old School vs. New School Basketball Game, Video Game Challenge, Sack Races, Trivia Relays, Volleyball, Glow Dodge Ball and a Pool and Air Hockey Tournament.

The event will include opening ceremonies for the Youth Sports Basketball and Cheerleading leagues. Coaches and their teams will be recognized and kick off the season with the national anthem. A motivational speaker will help the youth get started with the right attitude for the season. The Youth Basketball Leagues are open to youth ages 3 to 15, and cheerleading is available for youth ages 5 to 15. For more information, call (254) 533-7662.

Army Community Service Holiday Operations

All Fort Hood Army Community Service facilities, with the exception of Army Emergency Relief, will be closed Monday and Dec. 31. The AER office, in the Rivers Building, Building 121, will remain operational from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for those requiring emergency financial assistance. For emergency financial assistance after-duty hours, call the American Red Cross at 1-877-272-7337.
