The Beltonian Comedy Club is offering free admission to military service members, veterans and spouses with a valid military ID to say thank you for serving. Shows are at 7:45 p.m. Thursday and 7:45 and 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The theater is at 219 E. Central Ave. in Belton. For more information, call (254) 939-9191.

Join the Winter Reading Program at the Casey Memorial Library. Register online or in the library throughout December and January. Children, adults and teens can earn a prize each week for reading two hours or four books. The Casey Memorial Library is in Building 3202 on 72nd Street and 761st Tank Battalion Avenue. Santa’s coming to your Clear Creek Main Exchange’s toy department from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

CYSS Annual Sports Extravaganza 2012

Get ready to show off your athletic skills in the fifth Annual Sports Extravaganza. CYSS Youth Services programs will be presenting an evening of sports and fun from 5 to 10 p.m. at the new Montague Youth Center on West Fort Hood. Youth are invited to come out and enjoy an evening of games and activities focused around fitness. The event will include: Gladiator Face Off, Gigantic Twister, Old School vs. New School Basketball Game, Video Game Challenge, Sack Races, Trivia Relays, Volleyball, Glow Dodge Ball and a Pool and Air Hockey Tournament.

The event will include opening ceremonies for the Youth Sports Basketball and Cheerleading leagues. Coaches and their teams will be recognized and kick off the season with the national anthem. A motivational speaker will help the youth get started with the right attitude for the season. The Youth Basketball Leagues are open to youth ages 3 to 15, and cheerleading is available for youth ages 5 to 15. For more information, call (254) 533-7662.

UFC World Heavyweight Championship Fight: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez 2

Come out to the Backbone NCO Lounge and watch the UFC World Heavyweight Championship Fight. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the event is free and open to everyone 18 or older. Watch the fight on the Backbone’s 14 flat-panel 42-inch TVs, and enjoy free shuffleboard, ping pong, pool and popcorn or any of the snacks and drinks available for purchase. Army Community Service Holiday Operations

All Fort Hood Army Community Service facilities, with the exception of Army Emergency Relief, will be closed Monday and Dec. 31. The AER office, in the Rivers Building, Building 121, will remain operational from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for those requiring emergency financial assistance. For emergency financial assistance after-duty hours, call the American Red Cross at 1-877-272-7337.

Science Saturday at Casey Memorial Library

Come see “The Santa Clause” movie from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Casey Memorial Library, Building 3202 on 72nd Street and 761st Tank Battalion Avenue. Popcorn and a beverage will be provided. The movie will be shown in room 156 in the library annex.
