Back to School Bingo Night: Free event for all ages from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Casey Memorial Library’s annex Room 156.

Friday

Preschool Story Time: Enjoy stories, songs and a craft on a weekly theme from 10 to 11 a.m at Room 156 of Casey Memorial Library annex. Day cares and homeschoolers are welcome.

Adoption Day: The Fort Hood Stray Facility will have animals for adoption from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Petsmart in Killeen.

UFC 164 Watch Party: Henderson vs. Pettis: Watch the UFC Lightweight Championship bout between the current champion Benson Henderson and longtime rival Anthony Pettis on Backbone’s 14 42-inch flat panel TVs, enjoy monthly drink specials and munch on free finger foods while supplies last. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the event is free and open to everyone 18 or older. Backbone NCO Lounge is at Building 194 on 37th Street, adjoined to the Phantom Warrior Center. Call 254-532-5073.

Change of hours: The Warrior Way Specialty Store will now be open from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Sept. 6

USO Yellow Ribbon Gala: Tickets are now on sale at http://usoforthoodyellowribbongala.eventbrite.com/. Tickets are $50 and all proceeds stay at Fort Hood. The gala begins at 7 p.m. at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center and features singer Tony Orlando and the 10-piece show band, Matchmaker. NFL Sunday Ticket: Each Sunday, during football season, come out to Backbone NCO Lounge, Building 194 on 37th Street, and watch your favorite NFL teams play for free. The facility boasts 14 42-inch TV screens for your viewing pleasure, free popcorn as well as assorted snack foods and drinks available for purchase. Open to everyone 18 years of age and older. Sept. 14

Sprint Triathlon: The race kicks off at 8 a.m. at Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area and includes a 3.1-mile run, 300-meter swim and 12-mile bike ride. Participation is free and open to all. Sept. 14

Fort Hood Hunting and Fishing Day: Bring the whole family to the Sportsmen’s Center for a day of fishing, archery, shooting and turkey calling. The event is from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sportsmen’s Center, Building 1937 on Rod & Gun Loop. For more information, call 254-532-4552.
