Thursday

“Tell Me A Story” Early Literacy event

Hosted by the Military Child Education Coalition’s Parent to Parent Program, the event begins at 5 p.m. at Meadows Elementary School.

Maj. Gen. Anthony Ierardi, commander of the 1st Cavalry Division, and his wife, Angela, will read “Verdi” by Jannell Cannon — a book about a baby snake who is afraid of the changes that go along with growing up. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. The reading will be followed by discussion groups and a craft. Each family will take home a copy of the book, signed by Ierardi.

Austin Reptile Shows will do a live reptile presentation at 6 p.m. The children will have a chance to see and pose for pictures with a variety of live snakes. Admission is free. Due to limited space, families must register with the number of participants to PtoP.Hood@militarychild.org as soon as possible.
