Extended hours: The Health Promotions Aerobics and Skating Center extended its hours for the summer. Come out to the center, Building 324 on 37th Street, now open for open skate, every Tuesday through Friday. The skate center is open from 2 to 5 p.m. For $5, get in the door and spend the day at the rink. Call (254) 287-5623.

Today

Job fair: Meet more than 100 employers at the Fort Hood ACAP MEGA Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Abrams Physical Fitness Center.

Casey Memorial Library Summer Reading Program: Activities for ages prekindergarten to 17 from 9 to 10 a.m. This week’s theme is Europe.

Thursday

The Book Club will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. to discuss “An Invisible Thread” by Laura Schroff at the study table in the Casey Memorial Library, Building 3202 on 72nd Street and 761st Tank Battalion Avenue. Copies of the book are available at the reference desk. Call (254) 287-2716.

Saturday

Recycle electronic waste and household appliances from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Clear Creek Commissary. No government-owned property.

“Turning up the Heat Summer Bash” will be in front of the Clear Creek Main Exchange from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be fun for the entire family with water rides, a bounce house, mobile food trucks plus free giveaways from our business partners.

Monday

Movie Matinee: Watch “Rescuers Down Under” in Room 156 at the Casey Memorial Library from 2 to 4 p.m. Popcorn and a beverage are provided.

July 17

Christmas in July: Fort Hood’s Santa’s Workshop fundraiser will be during lunch and dinner at Pluckers in Killeen. Supporters must say they are there to support Santa’s Workshop, and 20 percent will be given to the nonprofit.

Fort Hood’s Army Career and Alumni Program presents the following Mini Job Fairs:

Thursday: The Military Edge event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Club Hood

The Monday Mini Job Fairs resume July 22. The weekly event is from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Oveta Culp Hobby Soldier and Family Readiness Center.
