Come out to Casey Memorial Library from noon to 12:20 p.m. in the Annex computer lab and learn how to access the library databases for journal articles, school research papers and language learning. The Casey Memorial Library is in Building 3202 on 72nd Street and 761st Tank Battalion Avenue. Call (254) 287-2716.

Thursday

2013 Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt

This “egg”citing event boasts more than 65,000 candy-filled eggs, hidden among three fields at Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area. Loose candy and more than 350 prize eggs also are spread across each field designated for ages 2-3, 4-7 and 8-12. All age groups hunt for eggs at the same time and adults are required to hunt with children 2-7 years of age. Pre-hunt activities begin at 6 p.m. and include games, inflatable bouncers, concessions, face painting, a magician and photographs with the Easter Bunny. Admission is $6 per vehicle, $10 for 12/15-passenger vans and $20 for 24-passenger buses. University of Georgia Survey

Support the future of Army Child and Youth Programs by participating in a study, and receive up to $200 in Amazon gift cards. To participate, the family must have at least one youth between the ages of 11 and 18 and have at least one parent who is active-duty military. All family members must be present. Please allow up to one hour to complete the survey. Surveys will be conducted at Comanche, High Chaparral and Montague Youth centers from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, from March 12-30, April 16-27 and May 14-July 1. Call (254) 290-6023.

Casey Memorial Library’s Preschool Story Time features stories and a craft on a weekly theme. Day cares and homeschoolers are welcome. Story times are from 10 to 11 a.m. in room 156 in the library annex, Building 3202 on 72nd Street and 761st Tank Battalion Avenue.

Easter Sunday Brunch

Hop on down to Club Hood for an Easter Sunday Brunch. Two seatings are available, 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Children can participate in a free egg hunt and take pictures with the Easter bunny. The egg hunt will take place at 12:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. with two age groups, ages 1 to 5 and 6 to 10. Operation Magic Variety Show

Get ready for some mind-blowing entertainment as you join us for a thrilling night of mind-reading, magic and laughs at the Operation Magic Variety Show at the Phantom Warrior Center, Building 194 on 37th Street. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Comedic magician Chris Mitchell, comedian Danny Villalpando, and the mind reading duo of The Bornsteins will perform. Don’t miss out on this free event or the chance to win $100, given to one audience member, at the conclusion of the show. The event is open to all ages 18 and older. BOSS Bass Fishing Tournament

The inaugural Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers Bass Fishing Tournament is from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Nolan Lake, across from the main entrance of BLORA. It costs $10 to register for the tournament, which is open to all DoD ID-card holders, including family members. All participants must have a Texas fishing license and a Fort Hood fishing permit (16 years old and younger are not required to possess a Fort Hood fishing permit).
