Nature in Lights: Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area’s 17th annual holiday celebration, open to the public nightly, features a 5½-mile drive through a winter wonderland of holiday scenes. Attendees can visit Santa’s Village along the way, where they can enjoy hot cocoa and homemade baked goods, vendors and craft booths. Photos with Santa are available. Santa’s Depot, located at Marina Cove, is a train ride to view lights seen on the drive and there’s a petting zoo with pony rides and concessions. Additional fees apply. The fee for a car, minivan or pickup truck is $5, with additional fees for larger vehicles. Santa’s Village is open Thursday to Sunday through Dec. 15, and nightly Dec. 19-24. Hood Hoedown: Kick off the holiday season of parties with a good old-fashioned Southwestern party at Backbone Lounge. There will be a live DJ, drink specials and a mechanical bull. Williamson County Symphony Orchestra: Williamson County Symphony presents “Music That Lifts the Spirit” at Howze Theater, Building 33000 on Battalion Avenue near 75th Street.
