I live on Foster Lane. Saturday afternoon my dog and I walked down to the mailbox , then back to my front yard. Suddenly a german shepherd and a smaller all black dog running loose ran aggressively into my yard. I commanded my dog to sit and then yelled as loud as I could at the german shepherd who crossed back over to Iduma school grounds. I was really frightened & took my dog into the house. I returned back to the front yard to watch the loose dogs. A man on Michael Drive standing in front of his open garage door whistled & called the dogs in. I then went into my backyard to do dog cleanup when I heard all the sirens so close by. My heart just breaks about an innocent little 2 year old boy killed by a bull mastiff. Saturday morning at 10 am I went to Nikki Farr's funeral. Losing a child is a parent's worst nightmare. I know because my 23 year old daughter, a young mother like Nikki, was killed by a 19 year old young man driving 120 mph and a blood alcohol of .23. The driver was found guilty of 2nd degree murder and is serving a 20 year prison term. I hope our neighborhood will unite in protecting our children, being responsible dog owners & safe drivers.
