The cause of a structure fire Tuesday morning in the 1700 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive is under investigation, said Thomas Pechal, Temple Fire & Rescue spokesman. Firefighters were called out at 3:13 a.m. and arrived at the scene at 3:18 a.m. to find the building burning. An exterior attack was used to extinguish the fire, which was under control at 4:34 a.m., Pechal said. There were no injuries. A live, downed electrical wire made fighting the fire more difficult because it had to be worked around. Also responding to the fire were officers with the Temple Police Department, Scott & White EMS and Oncor Electric.
