This year's annual Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce golf tournament is seeking to raise funds to help support Carl Levin Park.

"What we do is raise money so that we can help a lot of groups. If the city needs help in the park and we can afford it, it allows us the opportunity to do that," said Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce President Bill Kozlik.

The Harker Heights chamber will host its golf tournament June 18 at the Stonetree Golf Course in Killeen.

"This is our 17th annual tournament that we're having and it's the chamber's largest fundraiser that we have," Kozlik said.

The event, which benefits Harker Heights as well as surrounding communities, is open to the public to participate. It is one of the chamber's main fundraisers to help them fund events throughout the year, such as their monthly mixers.

The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

Contests will include the Keagle Eagle and Closest to the Pin.

An $85 entry fee includes the greens fee, half cart, lunch and drinks, a T-shirt, the Keagle Eagle and two mulligans, along with chances to win prizes. There also will be thousands of dollars in door prizes and raffle prizes given away.

"It's a fun tournament, everybody enjoys it," said Kozlik. "There's a lot of good prizes."

Kozlik said each four-person team will get a prize and believes that the tournament will be worth their time.

Last place incentive prizes also will be offered.

By sponsoring a hole and signing up a four-person team, participants can save $20.

Sponsorship options include:

Four-man team and hole sponsorship, $445

Four-man team sponsor, $340

Hole sponsorship, $125

Individual player, $85

The chamber asks that participants register no later than Wednesday. Registration at the door starts at 7:15 a.m. for those who have not done so ahead of time.

For more information or to fill out a registration form, contact the chamber at 552 E. FM 2410, Suite B, call (254) 699-4999 or email
