Families will have the opportunity to dance the night away at the Valentine's Family Dance next week.
"It originated from the idea to offer a positive family environment to the surrounding community no matter what the family dynamics were," said Nichole Broemer, the city's recreation and events coordinator.
She said the dance was a play off community dances that were either mom-and-daughter dances or father-and-daughter dances.
It was a success the last two years and brought people from all walks of life together such as families with military members deployed and single-family households.
Now, in its third year, the Valentine's Family Dance is expected to be as successful as it has been in the past.
"We will have music provided by Party Mixer, our DJ," said Broemer. "It will be all clean music that can be played at a family gathering."
She said in previous years they have had group dances such as the Conga Line, the Cupid Shuffle and more.
At the annual dance, they will also provide light snacks such as cookies, goldfish crackers, popcorn and punch. Also, there will be activities for all ages such as coloring and puzzles. Broemer said that all children attending must have a parent present for the entire dance.
