Helping people live better, naturally, is at Helen Dimitrakopoulos’s core.

A licensed massage therapist for the past seven years, Dimitrakopoulos bit the bullet and opened up her own business, Living Wellness Massage and Bodyworks, on April 2 in Harker Heights.

“I wanted to bring something different to the community and found that this area was lacking a wellness center,” she said of focusing on the mind, body and spirit by offering more than just massages. “I’ve always had a goal to open up my own wellness center and to help people physically, spiritually and emotionally. I stopped worrying about things, and that’s when things started falling into place.”

Born in Greece and raised in Florida, the military brought her to Texas 12 years ago.

“I used to get massages to help with the stress and ache and pains while I was serving in the military at Fort Hood,” said the veteran, who is certified in clinical and oncology massages. “When I got out, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in massage therapy to help others feel better.”

Dimitrakopoulos offers a wide range of relaxing massage services, including hot stone and prenatal massage, advanced therapeutic services such as myofacial release, trigger point therapy and medical massages, along with organic facials and Thai foot massages.

The clinic also features a boutique with Ayurveda and Farmestetics products, massage lotions and Juice Beauty organic facial products for sale.

“We are here to serve you for any aches, pains and injuries. The treatments we offer will make a big difference in your life,” she said. “Taking part of this regularly scheduled self care can play a special part in how healthy you will be and how youthful you will remain with each passing year and is truly an investment for your health.”

In addition to massage and bodywork services, Dimitrakopoulos offers reflexology and free beginner Hatha yoga classes at 6:30 p.m. Mondays and at 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays. Tawni Lei teaches Vinyasa Yoga at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays for $8 a class and 11 a.m. to noon Thursdays for $15 a class.

Living Wellness Massage and Bodyworks is at 600 Indian Trail, Suite 103, in Harker Heights. She also offers 10 percent discounts to senior citizens on Tuesdays and soldiers and veterans on Thursdays.
