Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce named Central Texas College its Large Business of the Year at the annual awards banquet Oct. 28.
“They have helped us with so many different things,” Chamber President Bill Kozlik said. “They did a lot for us and we appreciate everything they do for us.”
CTC helped sponsor the golf-tournament fundraiser, created a website for a chamber benefit, and hosted a leadership luncheon and business mixer, Kozlik said. They also continually give support to the chamber all year long.
“Being named the Large Business of the Year is truly an honor and, in part, reflects our community service efforts,” said Ralph Ford, CTC’s president of Texas operations and online learning.
Giving back to the community is just one of the many things the college is about, Kozlik said. The chamber thanked the institution for allowing it to be on the receiving end of its generosity.
“Not only are we a large provider of higher educational opportunities, but CTC is also a major part of community service projects, local philanthropy and economic growth,” Ford said. “To be recognized in this manner is very humbling and an honor which we are very proud to receive. CTC will continue to strive to improve the life, not only for its students but, for its community.”
