Nolanville police officers will take on the fire department in the second annual “Guns and Hoses” softball game at 11 a.m. Saturday at city park in Nolanville.
Arts and crafts fair, sale in Belton
An arts and crafts fair and sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Belton Senior Center, 842 S. Mitchell St., Belton. Handcrafted items, a bake sale and a food court will be featured at the fair, which raises funds for the senior center. Register early for Bell County toy run
Early registration for the 17th annual Bell County Toy Run is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Fort Hood Harley-Davidson.
All proceeds will go to care packages for soldiers serving overseas; Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children Inc., a nonprofit organization which serves special needs and chronically ill children; and other charities.
Registration is $10 per person or one new toy valued at $10 or more. Registration is at 875 W. Central Texas Expressway in Harker Heights.
Bell County Toy Run is Nov. 18. The public is invited to ride. Anyone with a car, motorcycle or truck may participate in this event, which is sponsored by the Fort Hood Harley-Davidson Owner´s Group Chapter 2070.

Heights ceremony to honor veterans
The City of Harker Heights will have a veterans’ ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Veteran’s Monument, 305 Miller’s Crossing.
The ceremony will feature guest speaker Lt. Gen. Donald M. Campbell Jr., commander of III Corps and Fort Hood, remarks by Mayor Mike Aycock and the traditional wreath-laying to honor those who gave their lives.

Hospice celebration honors loved ones
New Century Hospice of Central Texas will have its annual Night of Remembrance and Celebration at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at New Beginnings Church, 859 Copperhead Circle, Harker Heights.
The ceremony is held annually in conjunction with Hospice Awareness Month and is a tribute to community and hospice family members who have died recently or in years past. Attendees are encouraged to bring a photo or item of remembrance to be displayed during the service. The ceremony is open to the public.
