The Harker Heights Parks and Recreation Department invites children age 8 and younger to participate at the 19th annual Easter Egg Hunt from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today.

The free hunt starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Harker Heights Community Park ball fields 1-4, 1501 E. Farm-to-Market 2410.

“We had a great turn out of participants for the hunt last year and hope to have more for this year,” said Nichole Broemer, recreation and events coordinator.

Children need to bring a basket or bucket to collect the eggs. Special prizes will be awarded in each age group. Three of the fields will be divided up by ages with the fourth field for adaptive children, Broemer said.

The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures and the Harker Heights library will provide face painting from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and after the egg hunt.

“Please bring a camera to capture the moments,” Broemer said
