In honor of Library Card Month in September, the Stewart C. Meyer Library is hosting Library Day at the Market Heights Barnes and Noble from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The library will offer a variety of programs and sign up individuals wanting free library cards. A valid photo ID and documentation of current home address are required.

The Friends of the Library will also hold a fundraiser where a portion of proceeds will go to Friends of the Library. Shoppers just need to mention that they want to support the library at checkout.

“We feel this event shows our community’s commitment for literacy and we have amazing support from our city, residents and local business,” said Lisa Youngblood, library director. “Also, being at Barnes and Nobles shows that libraries are a cool place to hangout and we get to show people who are not familiar with us what we have to offer, like that we offer ebooks and story times.”
