The City of Harker Heights Parks & Recreation Department will host a celebration of Older Americans Month today.

Residents of all ages are welcome to come Age Out Loud at the Activities Center, 400 Indian Trail from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Members of the Senior Recreation Program will host an Arts & Crafts and Garage Sale.

Items for sale will include handmade woodworks, curtains and pillows. Senior-related businesses will be present handing out information and giveaways. Seton Medical Center Harker Heights will be doing CarFit checks, by appointment only. Please call 254-618-1170 to schedule an appointment.

Nurses will be available to do health checks.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers will be providing a sundae bar in the afternoon.

“Being able to bring the community together to celebrate Aging Out Loud in Harker Heights will make this day truly special for everyone that attends.” said Dorian Evans, activities specialist.
