A ceremony to re-charter the Harker Heights High School Key Club International and Eastern Hills Middle School Builders Club was March 19 at the Stewart E. Meyer Harker Heights Library.

Sponsored by Kiwanis Club International, Key Club is the high school organization that assists local Kiwanis Clubs in carrying out its mission to serve the children of the world.

High school student members in Key Clubs perform acts of service in their communities such as cleaning parks, collecting clothing and organizing food drives.

Builders Club is the largest service organizations for middle school and junior high students with more than 45,000 members worldwide. Members learn to work together and develop servant-leaders skills as they serve their school and community. In partnership with UNICEF and March of Dimes, the clubs are able to expand their outreach to babies and children of the world.

Key Club officers in attendance were: Tatiyana Sharper, president; Courtney Campbell, secretary; Sheridan Reid, treasurer; Juliesse Villatora, sophomore director and Glillian Rosa-Orama, senior director. Teacher advisor is Alice Page. Harker Heights Kiwanis Club adviser is Vivian Marschik.

Builders Club officers at the meeting were: Rhandy Hughes, Daniel Tidwell, Faith Harry, Anna Romero, Jordyn Gay, James Hailes, Alejandra de Chavez and Markaylah Dewberry. Teacher adviser at EHMS is Lisa Burden.
