My dad got hired as a teacher at Harker Heights when it stopped being a ninth-grade center and became a high school.

What is your favorite subject in school?

I really enjoyed physics last year.

What do you like about Harker Heights High?

Most of the students at Heights want to be there and I think it creates a better learning environment.

Do you plan on attending college after high school?

Yes, I plan on attending Kettering University in Michigan.

What awards and achievements have you earned or received?

My weighted G.P.A. is 5.19/4.00; unweighted is 3.88/4.00. I rank in the top 3 percent of my class. I am a part of the Killeen Police Explorers Program from 2012 to present. When I was 13, I joined the KID Explorers and have been doing community service and police training with them ever since. I have also been a part of several state competition teams representing the department.

I received the Silver Presidential Service award in both 2015 and 2016 for earning 680 hours of volunteer service with the program. I joined Skills USA my sophomore year and lettered in it my junior year going to our regional competition. I am currently the Skills president.

I am a part of the Harker Heights High School Disc Golf Club and National Technical Honor Society. I was awarded Killeen IS Academic Achievement Award Recipient 2014, 2015 and 2016. I made the Harker Heights High School Honor Roll in 2014, 2015 and 2016. This was my recognition of exceptional academics. I plan on getting this award this year, also.

What community work do you do?

I volunteer with the Killeen Police Department a lot. In the past five years, I have done over 700 hours of community service. I volunteered at Coppers Cove IS board games days to assist children in building complex thinking abilities and basic programming skills.

What do you like about Harker Heights?

Harker Heights has more of a small-town feel. But we are close enough to most major cities that getting to places isn’t a huge problem.

What do you dislike about Harker Heights?

I don’t like the lack of sidewalks. Before I could drive, I had to walk everywhere and because there weren’t any sidewalks, I always felt in danger.

What do you think that Harker Heights is missing?

I think that Harker Heights is missing a public transportation system, Killeen has the same problem.

What is your favorite restaurant in Harker Heights?

My favorite restaurant in Harker Heights is Papa’s Café. Its been there forever and it has really good food.

What is your favorite store to shop at in Harker Heights?

My favorite store to shop at in Harker Heights is O’Reilly Auto Parts. I work on cars a lot, so I spend a lot of my time and money at parts stores. I have just come to know the people that work there very well.

If you could change anything about your life, what would it be and why?

I would like to have been less awkward in middle school; however, I guess everyone is awkward in middle school.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I would like to be in the process of starting my own company in 10 years.
