Where are you from originally?
I am originally from Alabama.
Tell me about your family.
I live in a single-parent home. I have a wonderful, supportive mother named Tashia Bruce.
What activities are you involved in at Harker Heights High?
I am involved in AVID, and I play volleyball.
What other sports have you played?
I used to play basketball.
Who else do you play volleyball for?
From November to June, I play club ball; we travel to Austin, Houston and Dallas to play volleyball after the school season is done.
What is your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject in school is math.
What do you like about Harker Heights High?
I really like my coaches; they are very motivating and nice.
What college do you plan on attending?
I signed with Grambling State University on Feb. 7 on a volleyball scholarship.
What would your teachers say is your best quality?
I made academic all-district for volleyball. This means that throughout the whole volleyball season, I maintained A honor roll. With all of this I believe my teachers would say that I am smart and hard working.
What would your close friends say about you?
My friends would say that I am funny, outgoing and a great friend to have.
Who is your favorite staff member at Harker Heights High?
My favorite staff member is Coach Ramierez. He is the AVID teacher, and a football and track coach. He helps us a lot and he helps us to get ready for college.
What community work do you do?
I do a lot of activities with AVID. I have painted a nursing home. I also help people with things that they need, cleaning out garages, dog sitting, visiting people in nursing homes, playing games with the people in nursing homes, etc, and I have helped organize a walk for a friend that has a blood disorder.
If you were president, what would you do to make schools better and safer?
I would have business classes that will teach us about money because a lot of us don’t know how to handle money.
What is your favorite restaurant in Harker Heights?
My favorite restaurant in Harker Heights is Cheddars.
What is your favorite store in Harker Heights?
My favorite store in Harker Heights is Ulta.
What was the last movie that you saw?
“Girls Trip” starring Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith.
What was the last book that you read?
The last book that I read was “Madam Bovary” for my English class.
What advice would you give your younger self?
I would tell my younger self to work harder.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years I see myself as being a physical therapist.
