Caleb Collier

Caleb Collier, 26, works at Barnes and Noble in Harker Heights. He has lived in Killeen for two years.

Where is your hometown?

I am originally from Orange City, Fla.

What made you move to the area?

I have a friend who is in the military. He informed me about this area and said it was a good place to live so I moved up here. There are also no jobs in Florida.

Tell me about your family.

I have two older brothers and one younger sister. I do not have any blood family here in Killeen.

What was the last book you read?

“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” I am currently (reading) the third in that series. It is called “Girl who Kicked the Hornets Nest” by Stieg Larrson. I think it is sad that Larson died; he could have written so many more books.

What was your favorite food when you were a child?

Mashed potatoes.

What is the No. 1 song played on your iPod?

“Wherever I May Roam” by Metallica.

What is your favorite quote?

“None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free,” by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

What is your favorite mode of transportation?

Walking. I live in Killeen and basically walk to Harker Heights each day for work. I enjoy walking everywhere.

If you could change your first name what would it be and why?

Bjorn, because it is one of my favorite Islamic/Norwegian names. I like that culture. I really enjoy history, I am not in school, but I study history all the time because I like it. I will study any period I can get my hands on, (but) my favorite is the medieval time period.

What kind of community service do you do?

I am currently not part of any community organizations; however, I do what I can to help people. I currently (watch) my friend’s kids whenever he needs me to.
